Subject: Payroll for Employees

Intercosmos Media Group, Inc., (dba directNIC.com) is going to pay all employees hourly and salaried this pay period the same exact amount as last pay period. Unfortunately, we have been unable reach anyone in accounting who has handled payroll in the past and we have not heard anything about them.

So we need to track down Ronald Eldridge, Betty Daigle, and/or Yolondis Gilmore. If you can contact them and pass on this message that would be very helpful. We know that our employees are in need of money and getting money to them will be difficult without that information from accounting. Alternatively, we will find a way to estimate and pay employees. If we can't compute exact payroll and we don’t hear from accounting, then we will direct deposit money into your account if we can obtain bank information.

Information we need from accounting emailed to Sigmund Solares and carbon copied to Noah: 1) A step by step on how to submit the direct deposits? 2) Where is the list of information on payroll? 3) Where are the bank account numbers and routing information for each employee kept? Where is the specific folder where this information is kept?

Information we need from each employee emailed to Sigmund Solares and carbon copied to noah@lieske.com: 1) Your bank account number and routing information; 2) the name of your account; and 3) your last payroll amount; and 4) if you need more money than your last paycheck at this time please give information about what you need and we can see what we can do.

Thanks,

Sigmund Solares
Chief Executive Officer
Intercosmos Media Group, Inc.

IIRC, Michael is DirectNIC's crisis manager, not a NOC tech. What he's doing is probably somewhat in line with his job title.

Of course, I'm not trying to downplay anything -- not at all. I'm only saying the company hired him for situations exactly like this one, and they hired the right guy.

I'm with you on this one though, give the man a few bucks in overtime. I miss getting overtime, being salaried exempt (probably what Michael is too) isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Fats Domino missing in New Orleans flood
06:31 AEST Fri Sep 2 2005
AAP
AP - Fats Domino was missing on Thursday, days after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, said his longtime agent, Al Embry.

Embry told The Associated Press that he hadn't been able to contact Domino since talking to him on Sunday evening by phone.

The 77-year-old R&B legend, whose real name is Antoine Domino, told Embry that he planned to stay at his New Orleans house with his wife, Rosemary, and their daughter.

"I hope somebody turns him up, but as of right now, we haven't got anybody that knows where he's at," said Embry, who has worked with Domino for 28 years.

"I would think he might be safe because somebody said he was on top of the balcony."

Checquoline Davis, Domino's niece, posted a message on Craigslist.com pleading for information. Davis wrote that Domino, his wife, their children and grandchildren "didn't get out" of the second floor.

Domino, who has rarely appeared in public in recent years, has a home in the 9th ward, a low-lying area of the flooded city.

Getting information on possible missing persons has been nearly impossible as phone lines for hospitals and police haven't been working.

Domino has sold more than 110 million records in his long career, including the legendary singles "Blueberry Hill" and "Ain't That a Shame."

His 1950 recording of "The Fat Man" is sometimes called the first real rock 'n' roll record. He was among the first honourees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Hi, I have been following along and just admire the hell out of you. I sit here in San Francisco not knowing how to help out, I want to send blankets, diapers, whatever... but none of that makes any sense. I want to send money, but I don't have nearly enough to make a dent. I want to go down there and help out, but I am a friggin jewelry designer, what the hell could I do? So, I did what I could, I created an earring and necklace to sell to donate the proceeds to the Red Cross hurricane relief efforts, my 3 year old son was the inspiration for that. While watching the storm wreckage on TV he said 'we need to go help those people, we need to put on our toolbelts and go help those people.' With every order that comes in I run on over to the red cross site and make a donation.

This is going to sound ridiculous when what you need is water and diesel and toilets that work. But after this is all over, I would love to make jewelry for your 'superhot fiance', my treat. Thank you so much for helping in this time of need. And don't feel the need to respond to me, you don't have time... just send your fiance my email address so that she can have it when the time comes cdm at carriedmader dot com.

Stay safe.

CDM

I commend your employer for this, but as you know, email is not secure and the info your boss is asking to be emailed to him CAN be used by lowlife scumbags in identity theft. Thats the last thing anyone of you all need. Can you set up a secure webpage with a self signed cert, where they can log in and enter that info?

Jeebuz,

These guys managed to keep a massive data-center running during the worst natural disaster to ever hit this region, in spite of the fact that virtually all communications and power is lost.

Give them some credit.

If you knew what you were talking about, you might consider that like as not any *employees* would likely be submitting information via their *work* email accounts. Like as not, these people would probably also have some degree of VPN access.

The company obviously takes BCP and DRP *very* seriously, and probably has a decent bead on security.

The concern here is getting money to people; logging in and entering information with what? Preshared secrets?

Get a grip.

I am not really worried about remaining annon. I am really just concerned that what you are posting could possibly have damaging effects to the "other side" over in iraq and afgan. I don't know if you get the same shit I do on your AKO, but if you do I'm sure you're aware that our general shoomaker sent out an email about opsec. If you are currently concerned about our men over seas, you will cease and decist with showing pictures of dead americans, and refrain from spreading any kind of propaganda that could be used in the training or recruitment of other terrorist-wanna-bes.
One soldier to another, I am interested in this whole deal as I am sure you are now, since I am that "new force" showing up there. I am with the 82nd. IF it's anything like what I've been seeing on tv, which I'm sure it's worse, helping their cause by posting online would be a major mistake. I only hope you can see to it to put a password or some kind of security on the really heavy info in your site. Don't forget, someday, what you post may just come back to bite you in the ass because you see it in some video used to recruit, train, and plot against us, your brothers. sincerely,
G.I. Joe.
