The word is that in Jefferson Parish and Orleans, FEMA has "bugged out." They haven't brought supplies in.

THE REAL MILITARY IS NOW FLOWING IN. National Guard is being replaced before our eyes. Watch the feed.

Word is that the Marines are at 1515 Poydras where our OC4s are. I think we're coming back online in force shortly.

On another note: I've just been told that we're being monitored in Iraq! To all the troops there, from one soldier to another, we're hanging tough here and you hang tough too. No matter what you're hearing, we love you guys and want you to know that we know how hard you've got it. Stay strong!

I wouldn't fault FEMA at all if they're bugging out because they're being shot at. FEMA is not the military, they don't show up for work to get shot at or killed.

That is the best I can tell right now. They are trying to establish an open line of communication. In the last 30 minutes that is about all I have heard, other then the fact a guard unit was being sent to a hospital to try to get out the senior staff. But I didn't have my audio capture program running, so I didn't catch the hospital where they were being sent.

FEMA doesn't have the capability to simultaneously give aid and defend itself against hostiles. If the situation has deteriorated to the level of street warfare, then it's a reasonable decision on the part of FEMA command to pull out. If they can't get defense support, then they need to safeguard their people.

Yeah, protecting FEMA would typically be the local Nat. Guard's responsibility, but you know a good portion of them and most of their gear are overseas so...

Complete ineptitude of leadership on this one.

The Posse Comitatus Act restricts the military from domestic use, unless Congress approves it. Sounds like that's exactly what is about to happen.

Thanks for the no-bullshit updates. It sure beats the crap they spew on the AP and other "news" outlets.

Great to hear the army is finally arriving, even if it is four days too late.

Our military shouldn't be so taxed that it takes 4 days for them to arrive in times like this. What a load of bullshit.
